The rumour is now true as last Thursday Google launches Chrome Nook Pixel at an event in San Francisco, which creates a boundary between keyboard operating system, and touch operating system. It has a retina like display and will be in the market to compete Apple Mac book. Its Web-centric Chrome OS can affect the Android OS market adversely.
It includes mind blowing 4.3 million pixel display making it a highest pixel density screen currently in the market having a resolution of 2560×1700. Sundar Pichai, SVP of Chrome and apps, highlighted the device’s speed saying,” In my personal experience this is the fastest laptop I’ve used”. You need to rethink everything possible in a laptop, with this new technology.
WEIGHT AND DIMENSIONS
The feather weighing system of only 1.52 kg and 297.7 x 224.6 x 16.2 mille meter dimension, will not be a pressure in your hand, but don’t expect it to fly. Its body is made of Aluminium making it weigh light. It has rounded corners to make it feel better when you hold it.
DISPLAY
This is the most attracting feature of the Chrome Book. It has highest density pixels, which will force you to rethink the picture quality. 12.85” screen boasts 4.3 million pixels i.e. 239 pixels per inch, making pixels invisible to you. Screen has a 3:2 format rather than the traditional 16:9.In addition to the touch, pixels has a premium finish.
HARDWARE AND OTHER FEATURES
It has an Intel core i5 processor, which gives you the speed and an SSD of 32 GB. It has a wireless LTE connectivity option, that gives you a space of 1 TB, but that’s not internal. Don’t confuse, you get a cloud storage capacity of 1 TB for 3 year, with no charge, isn’t that cool.
Chrome has been optimized for touch, which will soon be in every laptop as it’s much easier to click with your fingers. On a 12-inch device, the pixels rather the resolution offered is much greater than the Apple’s Mac book.
The Google says it includes 0.55 mm layer of touched enable Gorilla glass, which is infused directly to the screen, which gives you smooth interactions with picture clarity.
It has a third microphone, which not only dump the background noises but also the noise you make while typing in the keyboard. Some designs have screen that can flip over and some can rotate, so it hits the complaint of confusing people between tablet and laptop. CONCLUSION
So if you are looking for a solid WebTop then it may be the best choice you have got, but if you are looking for more than just web you should think twice about sending that much money (1299$) for just web. If you are looking for serious features add some bucks and buy MacBook Air.
